OUR HISTORY A group of thirteen of us met on January 31, 1995 in Pastor Lynch-Louden’s home and committed ourselves to start a new mission, which later resulted in the formation of Trinity Ministries Church of God. We met for five weeks on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights in Pastor Lynch-Louden’s family room for worship. With the financial assistance of The Church of God Florida Cocoa Office, State Administrative Bishop Quan L. Miller, and the late, Bishop Leslie Lyttle, our District Overseer, we were able to obtain a lease at 3953 Davie Boulevard where we worshiped for over three years. Our first member’s meeting was held on Sunday, February 26, 1995 with fourteen members present. At this member’s meeting Pastor Winsome Lynch-Louden expressed her desire to develop a program that would satisfy not only the spiritual needs of the elderly, but also their nutritional and social needs. This program became Trinity Ministries’ Adult Day Care Center, Inc. Our first service was held there on Sunday, March 19, 1995. There were twenty-five adults and twelve young people in attendance. Pastor Winsome Lynch-Louden’s first message was “The Key to the Kingdom.” On March 24, 1995 Trinity Ministries applied to the City of Lauderhill for a special exemption to establish an Adult Day Care Center at 4093-4097 NW 16 Street. On Thursday, March 30, 1995 a five-year lease was signed with the 16th Street Shopping Center. On Friday, April 7, 1995 Trinity Ministries Adult Day Health Care Center applied to the Agency for Health Care Administration for a license to operate an Adult Day Care Center with a capacity for one hundred participants. This application was granted on Friday July 28, 1995. This made us the largest Adult Day Health Care Center in the State of Florida. The church, under the direction and guidance of Pastor Gifford Louden, developed a food program that would reach out into the community to assist families in need, both within and outside of the church. We began to operate three separate food programs and more developed as the Lord blessed us. We had an evangelistic outreach program that went into the Floral Park Community (this community was one of the highest drug infested areas and had a high crime rate as well). We were fortunate to have twenty young people from this area attending Youth Meetings and Sunday School - To God be the Glory! Pastor Winsome Lynch-Louden, Pastor Gifford Louden, and a few other members spent a lot of time evangelizing in this community. We had twenty-eight active members and thirty-three young people on Sunday June 2, 1996. In October 1997 we purchased a 10,500 square foot building at 1170 Sunset Strip in the City of Sunrise for our permanent home. This facility allowed us to have a large sanctuary, Sunday school rooms, meeting rooms, and one entire floor for our social and community outreach programs. In March 2001 we applied for funding from the Federal Government under The Ryan White Title 1 Program. We were successful and established a Food Bank, Nutrition, Counseling, Support Group and Transportation programs for low income AIDS/HIV positive clients and their families. We provided these services to 1510 clients in Broward County. In 2003 the Federal Government Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) did an operational review of all the Ryan White Title 1 nutritional programs nationally. Our program was rated as one of the top three in the nation. It was not us. It was the divine favor of our Lord. In June 2007 our “Valley Experience” started. We had to sell the building and terminate some of our social programs as our Federal, State County and Local Government funding for these programs were drastically reduced. On September 20th we changed our name from Trinity Ministries Worship Center to Miracle Worship Center. We relocated twice and settled at 5481 North State Road Seven as we went through this experience. During this period we mentored and trained seven ministers five of which have already attained their Exhorter License from the Church of God. The other two having passed their Exhorter’s examination, are awaiting their Exhorter License examination, are awaiting their Exhorter License. One of those who holds an Exhorter License, Pastor Dean Duggan is currently participating in the Church of God Ministerial Internship Program—MIP. At the completion of this he will be “An Ordained Minister” In spite of the rough times and the valley experience God has continued to bless us. In November 2017 our Lord took us out of “The Valley Experience” and moved us to our current location, 7571 West Oakland Park Boulevard, Lauderhill FL 33319. Though the vision tarried, we patiently waited for it. As we work towards the fulfillment of our vision we plan to have an After School Tutoring Program, a Saturday and Summer Youth Program along with the expansion of our current Food Bank Program in the very near future.
Special thanks to the late Bishop Leslie J. Lyttle, Bishop Peter Gayle, Rev. Emelia Gayle, Mother Albertha McKenzie, and Mother Gwendolyn Thompson. Their prayers, encouragement and financial support will never be forgotten. “Life’s race will run, life’s work well done …. Now comes rest”. “Rest in Peace”. We will see you all around the throne of God.
As we celebrate this milestone in our church’s history, we could not have achieved all that we have done so far without the sacrifice, commitment and support of all our faithful and dedicated members who have worked earnestly and tirelessly so we could come thus far. We are also indeed indebted to all those members who have not only embrace the vision of our pastors, but have made tangible contributions in time and financial resources to support and facilitate this vision - for this we are eternally grateful. We are justly proud and grateful to God for our pastors, our visionaries, our shepherds, Bishop Dr. G. Horatio and Pastor Dr. Winsome Louden. On October 26, 2021 Pastor Dr Winsome Louden went home to be with the Lord. Bishop Louden continue to lead the church and labors for Him with great passion and purpose. We give God thanks and we all will continue and write the next chapter as the work goes on, because the cause endures, the hope still lives and we all must ensure that the vision never dies .
